For analysing DNA and RNA routinely in your lab, having a great gel doc (gel documentation) system is critical.  DNA/RNA stained with ethidium bromide is often visualised using UV. When you need to re-use that DNA, for example, you can choose safer dyes such as SYBR® Safe, SYBR® Gold, SYBR® and GelGreen® which can be imaged with blue light.

If you’re looking for proteins on gels, you can easily visualise bands stained with Coomassie blue or silver stain.

By choosing Syngene’s InGenius3, NuGenius, NuGenius+ or G:BOX F3 imagers you can do all this and more. With application-driven touch screen software, slide-out UV and blue transilluminators, as well as white light options, you’ll easily have accurate fluorescent and visible gel images in seconds.

When you want to save time with gel staining, you can use stain-free technology so that your proteins fluoresce directly in the gel. After exposing your gel to UV, use a NuGenius+ – its super sensitive camera makes imaging your stain-free gels quick and easy.

  Cleaver micro documentation - MicroDoc

Cleaver brand offers the MicroDOC, a simple, inexpensive and ultra compact gel documentation system. Comes with a 14.7 megapixel digital CCD camera to guarantee superb resolution, the microDOC is the researcher’s choice for a simple ultra-compact gel documentation system that meets constraints in both budget and space within the laboratory. A large 8” TFT screen enables images, including agarose and fluorescent gels, colorimetric gels, autoradiography film and blotting membrane, to be captured in colour, clearly and easily. The system is computer-free and supplied with a 2MB storage card and 58mm ethidium bromide filter as standard, while an optional SYBR filter is also available. Files are saved onto the 2MB storage card in RAW, TIFF-RGB and JPEG formats and may be transferred to computer for analysis with the highly recommended TotalLab™ 1D software. Available on its own with camera and darkroom, or as a complete gel documentation system with transilluminator, either with or without software.

Basic System - The microDOC BASIC is a simple low-cost system comprising a lift-off dark room hood and 12.1 megapixel digital camera, through which the gel is viewed directly.

Manual gel documentation system 

InGenius3 is the perfect choice for low budget gel documentation and analysis fluorescence applications. It features a compact darkroom which has a sliding front door and an internal LED white light.

InGenius3 has a 3m pixel camera and can produce images with 16 bit image depth. A manual zoom lens and manual filter drawer (includes a UV filter) completes the package.

There are two options of transilluminator - both models can slide out of the darkroom to aid cutting and viewing. One option is the slimline 302nm transilluminator for UV applications. This can be used with an optional converter for white light applications. InGenius3 can also be used with the Ultra-Slim LED blue light transilluminator.

The system is controlled by the new GeneSys software. An external PC is required optimised for Windows 7 Pro and with a screen resolution set to a minimum of 768 vertical. 

The system comes complete with GeneTools analysis software.
