All three instruments have modes for photometrics, spectrum scanning, multi-wavelength analysis, kinetics and quantitation, giving direct concentration results against single or multi-point calibrations. With extensive post measurement tools to ensure results are presented exactly to each users requirements the 67 series also offers significant advances in data portability.
Together, the touch screen and colour display give the fastest, most flexible instrument interface possible. Where fine cursor control is required, using the QWheel™ makes the task easy and precise.
Jenway have developed Secure Multi User Operation for when instruments are shared by a number of users, so access to the instrument functions is controlled through a secure log-in procedure. For maximum security PIN codes can be allocated to individuals, groups or departments and to further increase flexibility each method can be given three levels of security:
• Public access is free to all users.
• Read only methods can be accessed by all users, but only modified by the originator.
• Personal method can only be accessed by the logged in user
The high capacity internal memory of the 67 series can be configured from 256MB, enabling over 1000 methods and results to be stored, up to 2GB, which stores more than 10,000 methods and results.
Removable SD or SD/USB memory cards further increases the flexibility and data transfer and enables the direct transfer of results to a PC via a USB port. Here all data can be viewed, exported, saved or printed for generating reports and standard operating procedures. Copying the SD card to the instrument's internal memory enables the easy cloning of multiple instruments, ensuring common laboratory practice and speeding set-up in busy teaching establishments.

Nucleic Acid Determination Mode
The 7415 Nano is pre-programmed with methods for the measurement of ssDNA, dsDNA, RNA and oligonucleotide concentrations using wavelengths recorded at 260, 280 and 230nm, with an optional correction at 320nm. This measurement mode has the 260/280 and 260/230 ratios pre-programmed as well as a variable ratio option which enables up to 3 wavelengths to be entered as well as the correction wavelength.
Protein Assay Determination Mode
For measuring protein concentrations, the 7415 Nano is pre-programmed with methods for Bradford, Lowry, Biuret, Bicinchoninic Acid (BCA) and Direct UV assays. This measurement mode allows up to 20 standards, with 5 replicates of each standard, to be measured to create the standard curve. The replicate measurements can be set to automatically perform 3 readings one after the other on the same sample; or the replicates can be set to enable one measurement to be performed on three separate samples of the same concentration.
Purity Scan Measurement Mode
This measurement mode is used to check the purity of nucleic acids. This is especially useful for RNA samples where impurities may be present at 230nm but cannot be detected using the 260/280 ratio measurement. The 7415 Nano enables scanning across the full wavelength range from 198 to 1000nm to identify any distorted peaks.
Micro-volume Spectroscopy
The 7415 Nano is fitted with a micro-volume accessory which allows samples as small as 0.5µl to be pipetted directly onto the read head, removing the need for cuvettes and conserving precious samples. This makes it ideal for nucleic acid researchers where sample availability may be limited; the perfect analysis tool to measure the purity and concentration of biological samples.
Interface Design
The 74 series spectrophotometers have a custom designed user interface which is based on an Android platform, making it easy to navigate and control the instrument. The home screen gives quick access to the different measurement modes as well as shortcuts to favourites and previously saved methods and results.
Read Head
Simply pipetting directly onto the read head makes sample measurement, quicker and requires much less effort, eliminating the need for both sample dilutions and cuvettes. The stainless steel read head which consists of a chemically inert embedded quartz lens, utilises the natural surface tension of the droplet to form the bond between the read head surfaces. After measurement the sample can be easily removed by pipetting or wiping away with a micro-fibre cloth.
Fast Readings
The 7415 Nano can automatically take readings at the optimal path length (either 0.2 or 0.5mm). It performs sample measurements in less than 6.5 seconds.
Enhanced Connectivity
The 7415 Nano has been designed with excellent connectivity in mind. The easy access USB ports on the front of the instrument can be used for software updates, data storage and printer connectivity. Results and methods can be stored as CSV files for easy transfer to Microsoft Excel®. With the optional CPLive connectivity protocols and results can be automatically uploaded and stored effortlessly and securely in the cloud. Connect with your personal secured login and password and share your results with colleagues from around the world may you want to.

The fast, responsive colour touchscreen and pre-programmed methods for the measurement of nucleic acid concentration and purity, protein assays and cell density, makes this spectrophotometer the ideal addition to any laboratory.
The Jeway Genova Bio utilises diode array technology to scan the entire wavelength range (198 to 800nm) in less than 3 seconds and the narrow spectral bandwidth of 3nm, makes it ideal to identify peaks for determining nucleic acid purity.
The Jenway 1024 element diode array detector coupled with a flash xenon lamp results in a long life, robust spectrophotometer. Covered by a two-year warranty which includes the xenon lamp.
The Nucleic Acids measurement mode can be used to quantify the concentration and purity of dsDNA, ssDNA, RNA and oligonucleotides; using wavelengths recorded at 260, 280 and 230nm, with an optional correction at 320nm. The concentration is calculated along with the corresponding ratios. At the touch of a button it is easy to check the purity of the nucleic acids. This is done by identifying distorted peaks in the purity scan between 200 and 350nm. This is especially useful for RNA samples where impurities maybe present at 230nm, but cannot be detected using the 260/ 280nm ratio measurement.
The Proteins measurement mode can be used to calculate protein concentration by creating standard curves from protein assay kits. Model Genova Nano single beam, scanning, UV/visible range micro-volume spectrophotometer (198-1000nm) fitted with micro-volume accessory, supplied with single 10 x 10mm cuvette holder, micro-cuvette holder, universal power supply, 4GB USB memory stick, calibration standards and certificate and instruction manual.
The ability to measure very small volumes makes Genova Nano the perfect analysis tool for measuring the purity and concentration of biological samples. With such small volumes there is minimal sample loss - a significant advantage for DNA researchers and other labs where there is limited availability of sample.
The Genova Nano is simple and quick to use, producing highly accurate and reproducible results in under than 6.5 seconds. It allows nucleic acid concentrations as low as 2ng/µl to be detected. Working with micro-volumes of 0.5µl to 5µl eliminates the need to make dilutions and use cuvettes. A small aliquot is simply placed on the stainless steel read head using a pipette. After measurement, wiping the read head surfaces with a lint-free cloth removes all traces of the sample, allowing fast changeover between samples and increased sample throughput.
Like the Genova Plus, the Genova Nano has pre-programmed methods for the measurement of ssDNA, dsDNA, RNA and oligonucleotide concentrations, as well as Bradford, Lowry, Biuret, BCA and Direct UV methods for protein analysis. In addition to dedicated life science measurement modes, this versatile instrument can also be used as a standard spectrophotometer with measurement modes for photometrics, concentration, multi-wavelength, spectrum scanning, quantitation and kinetics.
A large graphical display is built into the lid of the unit and the icon-driven software with soft-key navigation is intuitive and simple to use. The large internal memory can store over 300 methods, while methods and results can also be saved to a USB memory stick. Like the rest of the 73 series, the Genova Nano has an optional printer which fits into the top of the spectrophotometer, minimising the bench space required and enabling the production of instant results. The Genova Nano also offers the flexibility to use the full range of 73 series accessories. The instrument's 3-year warranty includes the xenon lamp.
